Vista died on me for 40 minutes today. What a total waste of time. Thanks Microsoft, you’re great. That was on top of a 20 minute boot as well, and what will be a 7 minute shut down when I go home this evening. 67 minutes of the prime of my life wasted in 1 day, through no fault of my own. It’s enough to make anyone depressed.

Good news - I have received a few more dontions - keep them coming guys! It’s so encouraging to see that some people are engaging with the spirit of this fundraising project, and I am truly grateful to those who have taken the time to stup up a quid to help me reach my target
Speaking of my target, there is a potential opportunity (or threat) on the horizon for HelpMeConvert.com, in that Apple seems to be gearing up for a new product launch fairly soon. The word on the street is that Apple will be coing out with new versions of the iPod Nano, iPod touch, and its notebook range (including the Macbook Pro) in September. Now this is potentially great news, as it has been hinted that the price of the new Macbook Pro will be lower than in its current state, and with considerably more processing power thanks to Intel’s new chips. However the uncertainty over the possible launch date makes me uneasy, as I am keen to convert my donations into cold, hard Apple technology as soon as possible after reaching my target.

A soon-to-be released series of adverts is set to make history as one of the most blatent lies ever told. Microsoft have constructed a $300 million (!) marketing campaign with the sole message being “Windows Vista is not as crap as you’ve heard it is”. Well I would like to counteract this by saying, “yes it is”.
The crux of the campaign rests on blowing away people’s misconceptions about Vista, which it has to be said has received some pretty bad press over the last few years (boo hoo). At one point the ads usefully point out that “at one point everyone thought the Earth was flat” - err, thanks Microsoft. I for one think it demonstrates that even MS thinks that its product sucks.
Woo-Hoo! First two pounds in the bank (well, PayPal account)!! I’m really excited now, knowing that people are actually willing to send a pound my way to help me escape cruel, cruel Vista. Thanks so much if you have donated! Only £2,201.01 to go!
